If this is your dog(s) first day of daycare

If your dog has not been here within the past 90 days

If your dog has been out due to injury, illness, surgery or any other medical reasons

Dog daycare provides an organized, controlled, and monitored environment for friendly dogs to socialize and exercise in a safe and enclosed area. Daycare helps dogs learn appropriate interactions with humans and other dogs. We use basic commands to communicate and use positive reinforcement to reward appropriate behaviors. We strive to make your dog’s day the best it can be!

Illnesses are impossible for us to prevent. If your dog is young or is not exposed to other dogs, your dog’s immune system will be more susceptible and less able to fight off viruses. Being exposed to illnesses is also how your dog’s immune system is strengthened.

Due to dogs being in close proximity, such illnesses may include, but are not limited to: canine cough, intestinal parasites, puppy warts and “doggie pink-eye”.

All dogs are required to be vaccinated. However, the Bordetella vaccine DOES NOT prevent the dogs from catching this illness. This is an airborne illness so it does not require contact with another dog. We disinfect each campsite at the end of a dog’s stay and the daycare areas each night. We also have an air purification system installed to help eliminate these types of airborne illnesses when the dogs are inside the building.

We ask owners to make us aware immediately of any changes in their dogs health after a visit to our facility. We ask owners to refrain from bringing their dog to us if they are displaying any signs of not feeling well. We do our best to watch for any signs of illness while your dog is in our care and to make you aware of what we have witnessed.

Even with all these precautions, outbreaks can occasionally happen. We do not assume responsibility for veterinary expenses for dogs that develop any of these type of illnesses while in our care.

Paperwork Requirements & Policies

Written proof of the following vaccines is required:

• Rabies (must be actual copy of the Rabies Certificate, NOT just a date listed under reminders)
• Distemper
• Bordetella* (Canine Cough)
  Bordetella is required a minimum of 7-10 days prior to their visit if they are receiving the vaccine for the very first time.
• Copy of current Dog License with your town (FYI once your dog receives their Rabies vaccine, they are able to get their dog license)

Your dog must weigh at least 10lb and if over 7 months of age, be spayed or neutered.

All dogs are required to be dog and people friendly. Our staff must be able to touch and handle them. They cannot be possessive of items or territorial of space.

All first time customers (or customers who have not attended daycare at our facility in a while) will be asked to schedule a reservation for their first day. They will be given a drop off time from 7-7:15am on Monday - Friday. We do this to ensure your dog can be introduced one by one to the rest of the pack. After they have a nice gradual introduction and we feel they are ready, we will then introduce them to the rest of the group. This helps to ensure the dog is not overwhelmed and has a good first experience!

At the end of your dog's first day at Camp Canine you will receive a formal Report Card! We will let you know about your dog's experience, their new friends and if we have any recommendations for future visits.

We allow drop off of daycare dogs starting at 6:30am* Monday - Friday and 7am on Saturday. All dogs must be dropped off before noon. Dogs will play all day up until 5:00pm and then they are placed in our nap room for pick up. This is to ensure we can sanitize the daycare area nightly. Any daycare dogs that are not picked up prior to closing (6:00pm M-Sat) will be boarded overnight for an additional charge.

Your dog should be flea and tick free. (Please remove your dogs flea collar prior to bringing them into Camp Canine.) If fleas are found, your dog will be given a flea bath at your expense.

We do offer day stays for dogs that are not social with other dogs and/or may be too old to participate in the daycare program. They will spend the day in one of our cabins and receive a mid-day potty break and one on one time with a staff member.

Please be considerate of other dogs and their owners and do not bring your dog in for daycare if they are displaying ANY signs of illness.
